Plickers Cards
FAQQ: How can I use Plickers with my students in class?A: Many teachers project questions and answer choices on the board from the Live View tab of the website, give students a designated thinking time to problem-solve, and then countdown to a "show cards!" moment. Live View will update with student results in real-time, indicating which students' responses have been captured with a checkmark next to their names. Teachers can also choose to reveal which answer(s) were correct with the "Show Answer" button and even review class data from the "Graph" tab.
Q: Why are the answers on the cards written so small? Can I get a larger print version?A: We want you to have the most accurate data possible about what your students do and don't know, and we want your students to feel comfortable answering honestly. The small print of the answers and the unique shapes on each Plickers card help protect students' privacy so they can answer your questions honestly without worrying about what their peers think of their answer. If you still think your class would benefit from a larger print version, please contact us!
Q: Is there any way to export data or run reports for individual students?A: Currently, there isn't a way to do this yet, but we're looking forward to implementing more features that will help teachers make the most of their student data. If you're interesetd infollowing these feature developments, you can upvote the ideas to export data to a spreadsheet or to view individual student data or even add your own data feature ideas.
Q: Is there any way to organize or group my questions together?A: While we don't have this feature yet, we are excited about building out better ways to help teachers create and manage content to use with Plickers. You can help us out by upvoting the feature request for an organization system or by voting specifically for a way to group questions into quizzes. A temporary workaround could be to label questions to indicate they belong in the same lesson or quiz. For example, for the question "[L1.3] What is the capital of the U.S.?" "L1" can refer to lesson 1, and "3" can indiate it's the 3rd question. Variations on this labeling system can even help you sort units: "[U4.Q1.5]" could be a label for Unit 4, Quiz 1, Question 5. A bonus of putting in a small bit of effort to do this for would mean that when we do implement an organization system for Plickers, you'll more easily be able to organize past questions!
Q: How do you decide on what new features to implement?A: We think carefully about how teachers are using Plickers in their classrooms and try to anticipate what they might need to make informed decisiosn and better lesson plans based on their student data. We are also incredibly grateful for our active community constantly supplying us with great ideas. If you'd like to add one, please visit our ideas forum to vote on current ideas or add your own!
Q: How much does Plickers cost?A: Plickers is free. And don’t worry, we’re not going to suddenly start charging for the product you love. As former teachers, we know how important it is to be able to depend on the tools you use. In addition to constantly improving the always-free version of Plickers that exists right now, we're hoping to add a Premium, paid version as well. If you have ideas about what you'd like to see, please add them to our forum!
